Debut Album …The McMenamins
Music has always been an integral part of life for the McMenamin siblings. Both Fleur and Simon studied music from a young age, and now in 2005, they collaborate to present their debut, self titled album, The McMenamins, to warm your ears on these cold winter nights.
Recorded and mixed in just one week at Damien Gerard Studios in Sydney, and produced by Fleur McMenamin, The McMenamins is in store September 5th 2005, through MGM distribution.
The McMenamin’s deliver organic acoustic music in an intimate, storytelling and often foot-stompin style. The combination of guitar, violin, and the sibling's honeyed vocal harmonies allow the mixture of alternative musical styles to come out in the song writing as it takes you on journeys of love, joy, separation and obscurity.
The McMenamin’s debut album is a sweet sounding, brand of alternative, country folk-rock that incites an awesome live audience reaction time after time. It is this reaction that has landed them airplay on JJJ and other community radio stations with their previously released 5 track EP, and performance slots at the Woodford Folk Festival.
After spending the past few months sharing the stage with the likes of Missy Higgins, Lior, George Byrne, Abby Dobson, Nessa Morgan and Brooke Fraser; The McMenamins are putting their best foot forward with a collection of songs that continue to highlight the amazing song writing talent we have in this country.
